The British cultural event Glastonbury Festival has taken what they refer to as a "fallow year" for the second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an official statement, Glastonbury expressed regret that the festival could not take place, giving any who attended the last festival they held the opportunity to roll their deposit over to next year and guarantee the chance to purchase a ticket to the hopefully COVID-free 2022 event.
Traditionally speaking, Glastonbury is a major part of British culture, with prominent artists taking the stage every year. The last festival they held in 2019 was headlined by stars such as Stormzy, Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend, and Janet Jackson, among others. In addition to music, the festival traditionally also has comedy, dance, theater (or theatre, I guess), circus, cabaret, and more. The festival is no stranger to fallow years, normally taking one about every five years to give the land and local population a break, but cancelling two years in a row is unprecedented. Hopefully 2022 will offer the UK a chance to reclaim Pilton, but for now, stay inside!
