Although the pandemic has changed many things over the course of the last year, nothing can change some good old holiday spirit!
ABC's all new season of The Great Christmas Light Fightis full of amazing Christmas light designs. The best part? The winner gets a $50,000 prize, but in order to win they have to impress the judges.
Carter Oosterhouse, one of two hosts of the show, told us exactly what he looks for when judging the lights. He shared:
"For Taniya and myself what we love to see is creativity, creativity, creativity!"
Taniya Nayak, another host of the show also gave her thoughts on what makes the perfect Christmas lights in her eyes. She says:
"I do love the light shows that, you know, you can see from outer space. I love good DYI and, I don't know, I just love it all.
This season will even feature a parade of lights! Oosterhouse spoke about what it was like to see that before his very own eyes. He said:
" It's a really beautiful thing to see and you realize how much of a community effort goes into these things that are created for the community."
Nayak also reflected upon how you can almost tell a person's story through their lights and what that means to her. She shared:
"It's how their story pertains to their display. I always say a great design tells a story and so for me when I get that out of it, it really connects me to what they worked so hard on."
As for what the judges hope fans get out of watching this new season Nayak says:
"We've all been kind of cooped up and in a little bit of a rut. So, I just hope that this lifts everybody's spirits."
