Just two weeks into season 17 of the hit show "So You Think You Can Dance," one of the new judges, Matthew Morrison, abruptly exited and new details explain why.

After a three-year hiatus, the Fox dance competition show made a triumphant comeback. For its glorious return, it was revamped, complete with a whole new judging panel.

In April, the new judges for the show were revealed to be former "Dance Mom's" star Jojo Siwa, "Glee" alum Matthew Morrison and season four runner up Stephen "tWitch" Boss. Cat Deeley was set to continue her role as host of the show, which she's done since season two.

It was reported last week that Morrison exited the show due to not following "competition production protocols." At the time, no further details were released pertaining to what exactly happened. Now, PEOPLE reports that an "inappropriate relationship with a female contestant" is to blame for the unexpected departure.

The 43-year-old actor allegedly reached out to the unnamed contestant via direct message. Nothing ever came of the messages but according to PEOPLE,

"She felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved. He was fired after they did their own investigation."

Despite his short lived career as host, Entertainment Weekly reports the ousted judge will likely continue to appear in episodes "through mid June," then a replacement will be introduced for the second half of the competition series.
