Foo Fighters Take The Stage At Madison Square Garden

Foo Fighters

Rock & Roll is back!

With vaccinations rising and regulations loosening, Madison Square Garden is ready to host live shows again. And who better than Grammy-award-winning rock band, Foo Fighters, to perform the first show since the pandemic started. Fans have been itching to get back to live music since it was put on hold almost a year and a half ago.

Ticketed guests needed to be fully vaccinated for the momentous occasion that took place on Father's Day. This event comes a few months after the release of the Foo Fighters' highly anticipated tenth studio album, Medicine at Midnight, which was originally scheduled to drop in 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic. The band performed 24 songs in total, including 4 from their new album and a cover of Radiohead's "Creep".

The band recruited none other than, legendary comedian Dave Chappelle to sing the Radiohead cover. The collaboration quickly went viral. "Dave Chappelle" became a trending topic on Twitter Monday morning as this guest appearance was an odd but welcome surprise. However, upon further examination, the pairing makes sense when you consider the Foo Fighters were musical guests on an episode of SNL that Chappelle hosted this season.

It was clear that the Foo Fighters were thrilled to be back on stage. After all, the band has many things to celebrate this year: their 25th anniversary, the release of their 10th album, and their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Technically, this will be the second time Foo Fighters lead singer, Dave Grohl has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. His first induction was in 2014 with the unfortunately now defunct band, Nirvana. Grohl is one of the youngest double-inductees ever, joining the ranks of double-inductee legends such as, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, all four of The Beatles, Lou Reed, and a few others. When asked by Rolling Stone what it's like to be a double-inductee, Grohl said:

"It's a lot to take in. It really is."

Foo Fighters are continuing their tour this summer in Cincinnati, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Bonner Springs, Oklahoma City, and Albuquerque. The band is also headlining Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 1st, 2021.
