After what seemed to be an endless saga of controversies and unpredictable, erratic behavior, Ezra Miller has now broken their silence and issued a public apology.
The actor, who starred in 2022’s Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore and is slated to shake up the DC Extended Universe with 2023’s The Flash, has recently been arrested for disorderly conduct and also faced felony burglary charges.
Alas, Miller has now shared a statement that reads:
“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
Even though fans speculated that someone might replace Miller in The Flash, Warner Bros. Discovery stood by the actor and the upcoming film. In fact, CEO David Zaslav said during an earnings call: “We have seen The Flash, Black Adam, and Shazam 2. We are very excited about them. We’ve seen them.”
Miller’s public apology feels like the starting point for their career to turn back around following this latest string of controversies. The actor is very attached to several franchises within Warner Bros. Discovery, so it is in the studio’s best interest to provide all the support that Miller needs at this time. Fans of Miller’s work are also very hopeful now that the actor is getting the help they needed in order to recover from the “intense crisis” they have recently gone through.
Hopefully, Miller will once again be a shining star in Hollywood who isn’t involved in so many personal scandals in their personal life – and this was a huge first step.
The Flash is slated to premiere in theaters on June 23, 2023.
