With the competition being turned on its head, talented performers are slowly feeling the pressure to show America what they've got. The famed dance competition show World Of Dance is making its triumphant return with leaps, turns, and splits that are certainly out of this world. The 34 new acts for the season are confirmed, and they are ready to bring it on.
Back And Better Than Ever
This time around, Season four will focus on world-class competitors that are working day and night for a chance to win $1 million and the title of best dancer in the world.
What Fans Can Expect
So, who is competing in the show this season? Standouts include hip hop dancer Amari Smith, urban dance duo Bailey and Kida, ballet dancer Maddy Penney, and jazz group Project 21.
However, there will be a few twists to the competition.
When performers walk in the room, they might think that they are performing one final audition for the panel of producers. It actually is the opposite. Hopeful acts will take the stage upon learning that the qualifiers have already begun and judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, and Ne-Yo are there to see them perform. After that, they will then determine if the act has what it takes to move further into the competition.
Then there is the callback portion of the competition, in which judges are given the opportunity to each give either one of three choices: a yes vote, a no vote, or a callback vote. The callback vote allows acts to be given one last chance to perform and maybe earn a spot in the next qualifying round, which is the blind battle. The Blind Battle occurs when the judges decide which acts will be competing against each other in the Duels round (the acts won't know who they're competing against until they go on stage). Finally, there is the beloved and revamped redemption round, where a guest judge will have the power of deciding which acts in jeopardy of being eliminated will end up competing against each other again in order to secure the final spot in the semi-final portion of the competition.
Scott Evans is slated to host the series, along with Lopez, Hough and Ne-Yo as judges.
