Exclusive: Carlos Santana & Rob Thomas Reunite For New Song 'Move'

Celebrity Page TV

The Grammy-winning duo who hit it big with Smooth open up on their new collaboration.

Not even a pandemic can slow down Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana. At the age of 74 he's busier than ever; signing a new record contract, getting ready to release a new album, returning to his Las Vegas residency and going on tour.

In our exclusive interview the Grammy-winner told Advocate Channel:

"wW offer people what they came to hear because they grew up with that. They grew up with Smooth and Maria Maria and Black Magic Woman. But at the same time we're able to ignite newness," Santana said.

Speaking of newness, Santana just reunited with Rob Thomas for the new song, Move, part of his upcoming album Blessings and Miracles.

"Carlos and I we're in contact all the time, we see each other whenever we're out on the road. We're always sending each other pictures when we're out on the road together, and so I just reached out to see if he wanted to play guitar on this. And it turned out he was right at the tail end of Blessings and Miracles. I think there was just a little color that was missing from the painting and Move just happened to be able to fill that spot exactly."

But as excited as fans are about the new music, there's nothing quite like seeing Santana LIVE! Lucky for us, he just resumed his Las Vegas residency at the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort.

"This is not a job for us, it's a gift. It's not a burden it's a blessing"
"To stay Forever Young like Bob Dylan says you must dive like a dolphin every day into the unknown and unpredictability. Trust. Believe. Relax and enjoy," Santana shared with Advocate Channel.

Catch Santana on tour or in Vegas. Stream their new song Move now and look for the album Blessings and Miracles on October 15th.
