'The Ellen Show' Comes To A Close, While 'The Drew Barrymore Show' Returns For A Second Season | CP

Today's big story is all about TV goodbyes, milestones and new beginnings.

First, it's the beginning of the end for Ellen Degeneres who bids farewell to The Ellen Show after nearly two decades on the air. Ellen has had thousands of guests over the years and has won dozens of Daytime Emmy Awards. The final season of the beloved daytime talk show premieres Monday September 13th. Check your local listings for times and channels.

While Ellen's run on daytime television might be coming to a close, Kelly Clarkson's run is just getting started. Returning for a third season, The Kelly Clarkson Show will kickoff for a special week in New York, before she goes back to her home studio in L.A. Following Ellen's departure next year, Clarkson will take over her time slot on many local stations.

Drew Barrymore has come a long way since her child star roots. Now, the Emmy-nominated actress is returning to The Drew Barrymore show for its sophomore season. Barrymore's special contributor Ross Mathews had this to say to Advocate Channel about the upcoming season:

"We are coming back for season two. I will be on everyday with Drew in Drew's News. She is the best. I didn't know her before and as a fan of her she's like exactly who I thought she would be. She is exactly that person."

The show will find some sense on normalcy after a fully remote season. Barrymore will host her guests in studios in Los Angeles and New York City. Also returning after a summer break is Trevor Noah who changed the name of his show to:The Daily Social Distancing Show, during the pandemic. As The Daily Show enters its 26th season, fans suspect that Noah is retiring the "Social Distancing" part of the title.

Finally, it's time to come on down! After 5 decades, The Price Is Right is still as good as the day it first aired back in 1956. Catch the premiere of The Price Is Right season 50 beginning Monday at 11:00am ET on CBS.
