The actress and producer is adding another exciting project to her resume with The Girl From Plainville.

Fanning's career started over 20 years ago in miniseries Taken and film I Am Sam. At only four-years-old, the star earned her first independent role in the Eddie Murphy comedy Daddy Day Care.

Recently, Fanning gained critical acclaim for her role in the Hulu series The Great. However, the star's ambitions go behind the camera as she also works as an executive producer on the show.

Fanning is continuing to show off her talents as an actress and producer in the latest Hulu miniseries The Girl From Plainville.

"When this project came to me to possibly tell this as a series and be a producer on it... it wasn't an immediate yes. Ultimately, I decided that I wanted to do it and be a producer because I wanted the responsibility to tell it with care," Fanning said.

The actress plays Michelle Carter, the real-life 17-year-old girl who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after encouraging her then boyfriend, Conrad Roy, to take his own life at the age of 18.

"Everyone has an opinion about this case, but I do think the media portrayed it in a very one dimensional way on both sides. We didn't get to know much about him. He was just kind of portrayed as the victim and we didn't get to know him as the beautiful person that he was."

Chloë Sevigny co-stars in the series and offered nothing but praise for the talented young star.

"I have so much respect for Elle. She was actually one of the main reasons why I wanted to do it. I just knew with her name attached... it was going to be a certain level of excellency," Sevigny said.

The Girl from Plainville is streaming now on Hulu.
