A Virginia man has been arrested for drunkenly crashing a car into Taylor Swift's New York City apartment building and trying to gain entry, police said.

Morgan Mank, 31, was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. after driving the wrong way on Franklin Street in the Tribeca neighborhood.

He had tweeted at the star,

“If I could make one suggestion, you should get your s--t together because you are in fact, insane."

"Time to move on, I believe. I tried, at least. I'm definitely not a fan. She's the one that's been stalking me," he subsequently wrote.

Police said Mank crashed into one of the buildings and tried to unsuccessfully gain entry. He rambled about not leaving the crash scene until he met with Swift.

Mank was taken to a hospital for an evaluation and later arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney who could comment. A phone number listed for Mank in Ashburn, Virginia, has been disconnected.

The Tribeca building is known as a hotbed for celebrities, with Orlando Bloom owning an apartment there.

Swift, a multi-Grammy winner with a fervent fan base, has been plagued by stalkers at her homes in New York, California, and Rhode Island.
