Dr. Randa Jaafar on Her New Practice & Helping Women Feel Their Best

Dr. Randa Jaafar tells Sonia Baghdady of Advocate Now about her passion for helping women look and feel their best.

Dr. Randa Jaafar is passionate about helping women look and feel there best, which is why she started her new cosmetic studio FILD.

Jaafar shared that it was actually her father who inspired her to pursue medicine in the first place, consistently assuring her as a child that she was "so smart" and could do it.

“My dad really motivated me when I was a kid,” Jaafar says. “I would go to the doctor and the doctor was always a man. So I didn't even know I could be a doctor."

Jaafar currently has her own pain management practice, but she tells Baghdady that opening up a cosmetic studio felt like the right next step, as she wanted her patients to feel good inside and out.

“That's why it's called FILD,” Jaafar says. “You're supposed to feel fulfilled and there's no judgment. I help my clients balance it by just recommending very natural treatments, things that I think would look good things. I don't let them overdo it because, really, they're looking for my guidance.”

Jaafar adds that is all about “enhancing their natural beauty and not changing the way that they look.”

FILD offers botox, filler, IV infusions, and more. While many see botox as a strictly cosmetic procedure, Jaafar reveals that it has actually engendered “a lot of serendipitous discoveries"— for instance, healing migraines.

“It wasn't intended for [migraines], and now, people are seeing it also treats depression,” she adds.

IV infusion therapy, Jaafar shares, can be more powerful than taking vitamins orally, as it "goes directly to your bloodstream and in a higher concentration."

However, her favorite wellness practice is just good ol' fashion aerobic exercise.

“It's not just for the body, but it's also for the mind. And it's the best treatment for anxiety and depression. The gold standard treatment for anxiety and depression is actually aerobic exercise.”
