Disney Plus Introduces 'GroupWatch' Feature For Remote Viewing With Multiple People

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, TV and film fans are finding creative ways to watch content with friends and family remotely.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, TV and film fans are finding creative ways to watch content with friends and family remotely. Now Disney+ is launching a new feature for subscribers where multiple people can remotely view a show or movie together.

Now available on Disney+, up to seven people can now take in any title in the streaming service's catalog, as long as each person has an account. The new feature will also include a variety of emojis that viewers can use to react in real time, and each viewer has the ability to rewind, pause, play, and fast-forward. Disney plus joins Amazon Prime Video with a watch party function, as remote viewing continues to grow in popularity. Multiple services have seen third party platforms create similar features.

With titles including Hamilton, Mulan, and all the Disney classics, its time to suggest a group watch party in your family or friend group chat!
