Showtime Dexter

Beware! Showtime has set a November 7 premiere date for the 10-episode revival Dexter: New Blood, which resumes a decade after the original show's finale.

After faking his death in the 2013 series finale, Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall, began a new life as a lumberjack. The revival series will find him living in upstate New York with the assumed name "Jim Lindsay" working as a sales associate at the Fred's Fish & Game sporting goods store. As the trailer explains, what initially looks like a fresh start for the devious killer quickly turns dark as Dexter finds himself surrounded by an ample variety of knives and an urge for new blood.

Dexterdebuted on October 1, 2006, airing eight seasons and 96 episodes during its run on Showtime. Hall played Dexter, a complicated and conflicted serial killer who works for the Miami Police Department. Less than a decade later, Hall is ready to step back into the shoes of his psychotic murderer along with original showrunner Clyde Phillips, who left the Dexter series midway through its run.

"It's come up in different forms," Hall said of the revival during the show's Comic-Con@Home panel on Sunday. "Along with everybody on this panel and along with everybody who's ever watched the show and is a fan of the show, I myself have also wondered what the hell happened to this guy? I think enough has time has passed and the storytelling opportunities were a lot more interesting for having more time between the end and now."

In addition to Hall, John Lithgow and Jennifer Carpenter, whose characters died in the original series, will also make appearances in the revival, likely reprising their previous roles in past events.

The cast will also include Julia Jones, Clancy Brown, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah, Oscar Wahlberg, and Katy Sullivan.
