Andra Day is nominated for Best Actress at the 93rd Annual Academy Awards for her role as Billie Holiday in The United States Vs. Billie Holiday and her dress is a nod to the late and great icon.

Day wore a gold asymmetrical chain mail gown made custom by Vera Wang.

"I wanted to wear something that I, myself as Andra Day would have never worn before the movie. I wanted something very, very sexy," said Day on her dress. She added that Holiday loved lingerie, and being sexy.

"I wanted something that was really just gorgeous and really fit the woman's body,"

Day also spoke on Wang's artistry. "She really dove into what my vision was and what it is that I wanted to express," she said. "She was so moved by the movie. She has created some incredible designs, and I am just elated. I am honored truly to be wearing her at the Oscars."
