As ABC has renewed the show, it is making history for going on its 30th season. Only CBS' Survivorand The Amazing Racehave ran this long and produced more seasons for unscripted shows.
Tyra banks will be returning with the judges, Len Goodman, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
Banks had her first debut with being the show host in season 29 after Tom Bergeron had announced he was no longer going to be the the DWTS host. He had been apart of the series since 2005 with Erin Andrews who joined his side in 2014.
The Americas Next Top Model host took on the role this season admitting that she had her work cut out for her. ""I think the challenge is stepping into shoes. I mean, you know, Tom Bergeron and Erin. They lead the show, this is one of the top-rated shows in the world," banks told US Weekly.
Throughout this season banks has done her best to keep up the legacy that was left for her. Although, there was some slip ups banks hd said that "Every host messes up. It's just normal. It's live TV."
Derek Hough had also joined the season last year as their newest host. He was previously on DWTS as a pro dancer from 2007 to 2016.
He had gone through some criticism this year with allegedly being too tough with his critiques. He had explained earlier this year that it is out of respect for the celebrities because he has been in their shoes and would have appreciated being told exactly what to do for next time.
The show had done very well this season. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the show had gone up 9 percent in the 18-49 age demographic for same-day ratings and had stayed consistent with its 2019 run for its seven day rating. The show averages 7.09 million viewers this season.
There has not be a premiere date set yet as well as the celebrities and its dancing professionals that will come at a later date.
