Harlem - Prime Video
Tracy Oliver's inspiration to write @HarlemOnPrime came from a lack of representation of Black women in their thirties who're still figuring it out. "[I wanted to make] sure that as many types of women are represented as possible." Watch the new series now on @PrimeVideo. pic.twitter.com/6HmGaRj2k7

Tracy Oliver's new series, Harlem, follows the lives of a group of best friends navigating adulthood.
The comedy follows the squad's highs and lows these women face, while highlighting the modern-day representation of Black culture.
Co-stars Meagan Good, Grace Byers and Jerrie Johnson opened up on the show's authentic representation.
"A lot of the shows that I have seen that have had women friends or women of color friends, I loved them for sure, but I just didn't see necessarily myself and my experience. When I read this, I [saw] so much of me and it's so weird, it's so cool and amazing," Good said.
"What 'Harlem' has meant to us historically and culturally... I just really love that we're able to show little pieces and bites of that in our show," Byers said.
"There was never a character like Tye that existed in history. A Black, queer woman who owns her own tech company. If we shift the images of what is possible, then we shift the culture," Johnson said.
Shoniqua Shandai, who plays the role of Angie, acknowledged Tracy Oliver's creativity and inclusive community on set.
"Immediately she started out the shooting process with beautiful notes of encouragement and opening space for us to collaborate, to speak, to voice," Shandai said.
Other big Hollywood stars joined the project to help bring more diversity and comedic value. Tyler Lepley, who stars as Ian in the series, thanked Amy Poehler, Pharrell Williams and Whoopi Goldberg for their contribution to Harlem.
"It was great to see how the greats do it... how they break the scene down, how they build their character and it was a treat to be able to work side-by-side with them, so I kind of soaked the game up," Lepley said.
Harlem is now streaming on Prime Video.
Claws - TNT
From a premiere to a series finale, the final season of TNT's hit show Claws has come.
Just like Harlem, Claws features another tight-knit ensemble of strong women working at a nail salon in Florida.
Carrie Preston, who plays Polly, shared her sentiment surrounding the end of the show.
"We're going to go out with a bang. I love this show so much, it has been the highlight of my career, my life in this business. I almost don't want it to air because then it will be really, really, really over," Preston said.
Jenn Lyon, who stars as Jennifer, touched on the mark Claws will be leaving behind.
"I hope the show's legacy is about female agency and women. Women having control over their own bodies and their own lives, and I also hope it's about family and friendship," Lyon said.
Catch the premiere of Claws Sunday, December 19th on TNT.
