On Sunday's episode, Chris Noth's character on "The Equalizer" was officially written off the show.
The actor, who portrayed William Bishop, was fired from the CBS drama after multiple sexual assault allegations surfaced in December. He has denied all of the claims.
In "The Equalizer,"Noth played an old friend of Queen Latifah's character Robyn McCall, who runs a private security company after years as a CIA director.
Six episodes have aired since that installment, none of which featured Noth's Bishop, including tonight's "Pulse," which gave the in-universe explanation for where the character has been and concluded with his off-screen death.
On Sunday's show, Bishop was killed in a plane crash that McCall's nemesis Mason Quinn orchestrated as he's assisting in a CIA investigation to stop Quinn from selling a deadly weapon. In the episode's final moments, she gets a call from Bishop. However, it's Quinn. He warns McCall not to interfere in his dealings, or he'll attempt to kill her a second time.
Latifah spoke out about her former co-star in January, sharing that learning of his sexual assault allegations was "surreal." At that time, she told the outlet the show was still "figuring out what we want to do creatively" with Noth's role.
"Chris's character's obviously a big part of the show, and it was amazing chemistry," Latifah said. "And my feeling is justice has to prevail regardless. I just want the right things to be done, you know?"
The last episode of "The Equalizer" that Noth appeared in was the Season 2 episode "Separated," which aired on Jan. 2 and was filmed prior to him being dropped from the series on Dec. 20.
