In honor of World Smile Day, we're celebrating the work of Smile Train, an organization devoted to aiding children with a cleft lip or palate.
Today's Real Life Celebrities features those within Smile Train that are creating real change for kids around the world. Along with advancements in modern medicine, Smile Train is giving kids a second chance to smile.
Each year in the United States, about 1 and 1000 babies will be born with a cleft lip or palate. Unfortunately, families each year struggle with selecting a doctor and medical and therapy payments for their child. That's where Smile Train comes in, as they step up and aid those in their process.
Joined by singer Ciara, Gabrielle Union, and Elle King, Smile Train hosted a virtual celebration for World Smile Day. The organization met their goal of raising $50,000 for the event, which will go directly to children all around the world.
