How old do you have to be to have a top five charting album six decades in a row? Bruce Springsteen did it at 71.
The singer/songwriter who was born in 1949 has released 20 studio albums in his lifetime. It all began in 1975 when his album Born to Run placed no. three on the Billboard charts. Now 45 years later, his new album Letter to You has debuted at no. two.
Billboard tweeted the historic accomplishment:
Bruce Springsteen Becomes First Act With Top Five-Charting Albums in Each of Last Six Decades With ‘Letter to You’ https://t.co/UjR4EqWhic— billboard (@billboard) 1604341684
With this debut, Springsteen is now the first act to have albums reach the top five six decades in a row. Even more impressive, Letter to You is his 21st album to chart on the top ten. Along with 20 studio albums the singer has released, there's also 23 live albums for you to hear him on.
Springsteen clearly loves a show.
In honor of his latest album, Bruce Springsteen has decided to gift his fans with a companion documentary exclusively on Apple TV.
You can stream the documentary now:
The film shows parts of Springsteen's intimate life as one of the biggest voices in history while also bringing viewers into the recording studio of his latest album.
