Brittany Cartwright has opened up about why she wasn't able to attend her former co-star Stassi Schroeder’s wedding at the last minute.

On an episode of the "Betches Moms" podcast, the “Vanderpump Rules” star explained that she and her husband Jax Taylor had "actual reasons" to skip the Italy ceremony, insisting she “would never in a million years do something like that on purpose.”

She shared,

“Cruz’s passport didn’t come in. My mom had a death in the family and had to go home."

Cartwright added that she “really, really, really did want to be there."

Though, Cartwright does regret having to tell Schroeder at the last minute and understands why she was so upset.

"Having to wait to the last minute and not being able to be there for someone who I really do think of as one of my best friends, I feel terrible about it, and I'm truly sorry," she added. "And I hope that one day, we'll be able to talk about this and figure it all out."

Cartwright was one of the very few "Vanderpump Rules" stars invited to the wedding. Though she is not currently on speaking terms with Schroeder or her husband Beau Clark, Cartwright says she is "just going to give [Schroeder] time.”

She added,

“One day we’ll be able to talk about this [and] figure it all out because I do want our kids to grow up together.”
