The singer finally addressed The New York Times' Framing Britney Spears documentary in an Instagram post on Tuesday night, the first time she's ever spoken out about it since the film's release in early February.
"I didn't watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in ... I cried for two weeks and well .... I still cry sometimes !!!!"
Britney shared a video of her dancing to social media late last night, March 30. The full caption talks about how dancing helps the pop star feel sane while her entire life is being speculated and judged by millions of people.
Framing Britney Spears goes in depth about the singer's conservatorship as well as the vast amounts of paparazzi and media scrutiny she faced in the early 2000's. This is the first time Britney has explicitly addressed specifics about the documentary, bringing her conservatorship to more light in the media.
While Britney doesn't go into specifics on exactly why the documentary made her cry, her statement somewhat differs from her boyfriend's initial reaction to the documentary back in February.
A few days after the episode's initial release, Spears' boyfriend, Sam Asghari, posted a story to Instagram implying support for the content in the documentary and condemning Spears' father.

Britney keeps her statements overall vague enough to where there's no definitive answer on how she feels about the documentary, the speculation of her conservatorship, and the Free Britney movement overall.
