Britney Spears asked her attorney Mathew Rosengart for a deposition from her father, Jamie Spears, that pertained to his conduct during the conservatorship.
As one chapter closed and Spears left the conservatorship, she finally became a free woman. Both Spears and her team knew that her legal battle with her father did not end there, however, Rosengart stressed in November of 2021,
"What's next for Britney is up to one person — and this is the first time we can say this in a decade. It's up to Britney," he said. "Britney, as of today, is a free woman."
This past Wednesday, NBC News obtained information that Spears' legal team filed the motion for a deposition in LA Superior court.
Rosengart and the team have been frustrated with Spears for some time as he has stonewalled three deposition dates and continued to ignore the alternate dates. According to TMZ, “Spears reportedly refused to travel.”
Rosengart, in an effort to put an end to this lengthy legal dispute, offered to depose Spears in his hometown, Kentwood, Louisiana.
The deposition was said to address her father's efforts "to control his daughter via lithium," including "using Britney Spears' resources to oppose or suppress the #FreeBritney Movement."
There has yet to be a word from Spears on his agreement for a deposition.
