Britney Spears' attorney made a request to make Jodi Montgomery her conservator, replacing Jamie Spears.
In court documents filed on Tuesday, Britney Spears' lawyer, Samuel Ingham, requested that Jamie remain co-conservator of her estate, but she wants to retain the right to petition for termination of the conservatorship as a whole.
If Jodi were to become conservator, her capabilities would include making the meetings and location for her meetings, taking caution of who visits Britney besides her lawyer, oversee caretakers and security guards, control over the signers medical treatment with access to medical records as well as prosecuting restraining orders.
Within the court file, Ingham writes that Britney spears is not capable "to consent to any form of medical treatment," making it a reason as to why Montgomery needs to take the reins.
Jamie spears had to temporarily step down as conservator in 2019 due to health issues and has not resumed the role. In August 2020 Britney went to court to make Montgomery her conservator and the Bessemer trust Company her conservator of her estate, but the judge ruled otherwise. In November Jamie Spears was ruled to remain as co-conservator of the estate by the judge.
Jamie Spears has been her conservator since 2008.
Since the show Framing Britney Spearson FX has come out last month, the movement #FreeBritney has taken over the media and gained more popularity to the issue.
The next court hearing for Britney Spears' conservatorship will be on April 27.
