Our ancestry's complicated. We may find long distant cousins from all over the world. This time, it happened to Lance Bass, and the results are shocking.
Lance Bass has discovered he's related to pop star Britney Spears while playing 2 Lies & A Leaf with husband Michael Turchin.
Throughout the game, the two had to guess the correct answer to each question. Towards the end of the episode, the following was asked:
"Which unexpected distant relative is a part of Lance's musical family tree?"
The choice was between Faith Hill, Britney Spears and Elvis Presley.
Bass was very clear about his preference, but would've never expected that the pop star was the correct answer.
"Are you kidding me?"
According to Ancestry, the two are sixth cousins, once removed. What's interesting is that both singers were born in Mississippi, exactly an hour from each other.
In a recent Instagram post, Bass shared a photo with his husband on a beach with the following caption:
"Slidin' into the Christmas season like..."
He definitely was not expecting to discover that Spears' a distant relative this Christimas' season. But again, the holidays always find ways to surprise us when we least expect it.
