Brandon is showcasing a love story not often told in country music.

"I put out my first record in 2015 and even that video for that first single that I put out... there was a man playing opposite me. I've always just felt it was very important for me to be authentic and put that out into the world, especially in a world like the country space, where representation is growing. The landscape is changing. It has changed so much in the past six years for the better, but it feels nice to be a part of it," Stansell said.

The singer revealing the core themes behind his new EP, This Must Be The Place, which resonates with many of his fans.

"It's very much like a transition EP. There's a little bit of heartbreak. It feels, to me, current but also with a little nod to where I came from."

Brandon is also using his platform to advocate for LGBTQ representation in country music. His music video for his hit single, "Hometown," made history as the first LGBTQ-themed video to ever premiere on CMT.

"As queer people, we all know that it can be hard to be proud of who we are... especially in the beginnings. If there had just been one video like that, or one person like that... just to say it was okay and that it wasn't something that you needed to be ashamed of, or it wasn't something you needed to hide, but something that you could celebrate and be proud of... I think that would have really changed my life in a fundamental way much earlier. When I was a kid, being gay was the thing I was most ashamed about. Now, it's something I'm so proud of. I love being a part of this community."
