"This is my 25th year writing thrillers. It's going to make you stay up at night. If you need sleep, I'm sorry... I'm not the person you should turn to right now," Meltzer said.

Beyond the scares, Brad is also known for selling four million comic books.

"I write Superman, Batman and Spiderman. I love thrillers like 'The Lightning Rod,' but when I get to write 'B-a-t-m-a-n,' and I put words in Batman's mouth... I'm wearing my underwear on the outside of my pants that day. That's the best day of work that day. When you write what you love, you find the time for it."
