Bonnie Pointer of The Pointer Sisters has passed away in Los Angeles at 69. Her sister Anita released the following statement:
"It is with great sadness that I have to announce to the fans of the Pointer Sisters that my sister Bonnie died this morning. Our family is devastated. On behalf of my siblings and I and the entire Pointer family, we ask for your prayers at this time."
Born Patricia Eva Pointer July 11,1950, Bonnie along with sisters June and Anita began their singing career in 1969. Ruth Pointer joined in 1972 and the group released their first album in 1973. Bonnie went on to pursue a solo career in 1977. She is survived by her sisters Ruth and Anita and brothers Aaron and Fritz.
