Bobby Lewis, the famous R&B singer known for his hit "Tossin' and Turnin" passed away in April at the age of 95 due to pneumonia.
Bobby Lewis recorded his hit single in 1960, which later skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961. Today, the song is considered timeless, with over three million copies of the single sold. In 2019, Rolling Stone placed 'Tossin' and Turnin" as number one on their list of the 20 Biggest Songs of the Summer: The1960s edition.
In addition to 'Tossin' and Turnin", Lewis had major success with the release of his single 'One Track Mind' in 1961. With the single reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard charts, it had become a fan favorite.
Back in 2011, Lewis was able to reflect on the success he was able to attain. In an interview with NJ.com, Lewis mentioned how his music's legacy will continue on:
