Bob Saget's family is filing a lawsuit to block the release of investigation records surrounding the late comedian's death.

Bob Saget's wife Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters, Jennifer, Lara, and Aubrey, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against the medical examiner's office and the Orange County sheriff, in an effort to stop them from publicly releasing certain photos, videos, and audio recordings related to Saget's death. The family cited privacy concerns.

The beloved comedian and actor, who portrayed Danny Tanner on Full House, was found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida on Jan. 9. The actor's cause of death was later revealed to be due to an accidental head injury that went unchecked after falling. He was 65 years old.

The family has argued that the release of such records would potentially cause great pain and harm.

"In the process of these investigations, Defendants created records which include photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, statutorily protected autopsy information, and all other statutorily protected information," said the lawsuit. "Upon information and belief, some of these Records graphically depict Mr. Saget, his likeness or features, or parts of him, and were made by Defendants during Defendants' investigations."

It continued,

"Plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm in the form of extreme mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress if Defendants release the Records in response to public records requests or otherwise disseminate the Records for any other reason or purpose."

Brian Bieber, an attorney for the Saget family told CNN,

"The facts of the investigation should be made public, but these materials should remain private out of respect for the dignity of Mr. Saget and his family. It’s very simple — from a human and legal standpoint, the Saget family’s privacy rights outweigh any public interest in disclosure of this sensitive information.”
