Blue Ivy Carter is following in her mother's steps as she wins her first Grammy ever for the role in the music video "Brown Skin Girl." A huge success for Beyoncé's oldest daughter!
Beyoncé's oldest daughter is just nine-years-old and participated in the music video that was part of a musical film and visual album called Black is Kingby Beyoncé.
The music video in its entirety, is a celebration of Black women and their relationships: mothers, daughters, sisters etc.
"Brown Skin Girl" transmits empowerment, love and unity. We can see Carter at the beginning of the music video, playing with her mother. Later on, she appears dressed like a debutante, smiling, flowers in hands. And then, right at the end, the camera zooms in as she sings:
"Brown skin girl, your skin just like pearls. The best thing in all the world, I never trade you for anybody else, singin'"
Beyoncé made history last night at the Grammys becoming the first woman to have 28 wins, but Carter's night was equally important -- she's the second youngest to win a Grammy.
While we may have no idea what the future holds for this talented Black skin girl, we can only presume that what's waiting her is something magical.
