It's been nearly five years since Queen Bey released her solo project "Lemonade" and the star is promising fans that new music will be here sooner than expected.
The 28-time Grammy-award winner graced the cover of Harper's BAZAAR's September Icon issue in her new IVY Park X Adidas collection, just in time for her 40th birthday. In a tell-all interview with the magazine, the music icon revealed quarantine allowed for more creative time with her music which Beyoncé who is a perfectionist when it comes to her craft, has spent over a year's worth of time paying attention to small details other artists may overlook.
"Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare. One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies," Beyoncé revealed.
"Still, there's nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio," continued the singer. "After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was 9 years old. Yes, the music is coming!"
The singer revealed what fans can expect to hear on her next album.
"With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again," she said. "I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible."
The singer also credited lockdown as a time to focus on healing from years of performing on stage that led to inflammation and insomnia. The music mogul also used her off-time to dived into more passions including making her own hemp and honey farm, honing her film-making skills, and focusing on positive rituals that she intends on passing down to her daughters Blue, 9, and Rumi, 4.
"I want to explore aspects of myself I haven't had time to discover and to enjoy my husband [Jay-Z] and my children. I want to travel without working. I want this next decade to be about celebration, joy, and giving and receiving love. I want to give all the love I have to the people who love me back."
