Reboots are all the rage, and ABC is digging deep to revive an iconic sitcom from the 1960s and 1970s. Here's what we know about the modern remake of Bewitched!
Bewitched Reboot
Premiering in 1964 in black & white before a monumental switch to color, Bewitched stands the test of time as one of the most iconic sitcoms in television history.
The series starred Elizabeth Montgomery. She played Samantha, a witch attempting to live a thoroughly normal life with her uptight, mortal husband, Darren, an advertising executive played by Dick York from 1964 to 1969, and Dick Sargent from 1969 to 1972.
While ABC has not yet announced the stars of the Bewitched reboot, they have revealed details on how the series will put a new spin on the classic formula.
In the reboot, the couple will be interracial, and the new Samantha will be portrayed as a hard-working black mother. To see this vision through, ABC has entrusted the reboot to acclaimed comedy writer and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris.
