On Sunday, July 12th, Benjamin Keough, son of Lisa Marie Presley and grandson of the "The King" Elvis Presley, dies at the age of 27, due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to PEOPLE, the country star and mother is "beyond devastated" over the death of her only son, Benjamin Keough, whom she had a close connection with. The star's rep goes on to the tell the publication more about Presley's reaction:
"She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."
Remembering Benjamin Keough
Back in 2012, Presley proudly told CMT that all of her children embodied a bit of her late father, Elvis Presley. She went on to say that her son Benjamin, however, was the one who looked most like him. Presley shared:
"He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage! Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny. Sometimes I am overwhelmed when I look at him."
Our thoughts and consolations are with the Presley family during this difficult time, as they grieve the loss of brother, son, and friend, Benjamin Keough.
