How does a nice vacation to Palm Springs sound? Since most of us aren't traveling right now, allow Andy Samberg and Oscar winner J.K. Simmons to take you there, virtually...
Palm Springs on Hulu
Call it a modern rom-com version of Groundhog Day, somehow Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti wind up in a time loop where they keep waking up at the same wedding in Palm Springs. In an interview with Advocate Channel correspondent Rachel Smith, Samberg shared his excitement about the film:
"I enjoy watching rom-coms that are more down the middle, but I don't necessarily think I fit into them. Purely from a comedic standpoint this felt a lot more like my speed. We are really excited to share this with the world. It's not exactly how we were expecting, but been feeling a lot of gratitude that we're going to be able to put it out at all."
Also along for the ride, an all-star cast that includes Riverdale's Camila Mendes and Oscar winner J.K. Simmons. Simmons spoke about how he went about choosing this role with Smith:
"It is great to have that luxury in the business now to be able to pick and choose. In this case it was just Andy Samberg as the main reason. He asked me if I'd take a look at the script and I'd worked with him years ago and we had a great time. Once I saw the script and the character, I thought it was going to be a really fun thing to do. Plus we shot about 40 minutes from my driveway, so it was perfect."
Andy debuting the movie at the Sundance Film Festival in January before the pandemic lockdown. Now, as a producer, deciding to release it at some drive-in theaters and straight to Hulu for audiences to enjoy at home.
Palm Springs is streaming now on Hulu.
