Netflix just released the first trailer for their upcoming film, Hillbilly Elegy. The story discusses the relationship between a drug-addicted mother, her kids, and her own mother Mamaw.
According to the film's synopsis, J.D. Vance, a former Marine from southern Ohio and current Yale Law student, is on the verge of landing his dream job when a family crisis forces him to return to the home he's tried to forget. J.D. must navigate the complex dynamics of his Appalachian family, including his volatile relationship with his mother Bev, who's struggling with addiction.
Amy Adams plays Bev, a type of role that Adams is not quite known for. Other stars of Hillbilly Elegy include Glenn Close, Haley Bennett, Bo Hopkins, and Freida Pinto.
