Amy Adams Stars In Netflix's 'Hillbilly Elegy'

The actress looks a little different in her new role.

Netflix just released the first trailer for their upcoming film, Hillbilly Elegy. The story discusses the relationship between a drug-addicted mother, her kids, and her own mother Mamaw.

According to the film's synopsis, J.D. Vance, a former Marine from southern Ohio and current Yale Law student, is on the verge of landing his dream job when a family crisis forces him to return to the home he's tried to forget. J.D. must navigate the complex dynamics of his Appalachian family, including his volatile relationship with his mother Bev, who's struggling with addiction.

Amy Adams plays Bev, a type of role that Adams is not quite known for. Other stars of Hillbilly Elegy include Glenn Close, Haley Bennett, Bo Hopkins, and Freida Pinto.

What's even better about the movie? It's a true story. The movie is based off of the real J.D. Vance's New York Times Best Seller book Hillbilly Elegy.

Not only will the film be on Netflix to watch at home, but it will also be playing in select theaters throughout the entire month of November before airing on the streaming platform on November 24th.. You might be lucky enough to catch it at the theater with a bag of popcorn and soda! Don't miss out on the highly anticipated movie.
