The outlandish spirit of the event makes for a lively pre-show, but 2022’s guests seemed eager to defy expectations.

Ariana Grande decided to skip the ceremony this year, but there was still plenty of star power, with Billie Eilish, BTS, and Lil Nas X all present. Attendees seemed to be inspired by the ’90s, with chokers, pointy up-dos, and tiny Matrix sunglasses.
